The Hot Chocolate Cafe, Medan Damansara

I've driven past this place numerous times but never made it a point to try it out. A quick check on my blackberry found reviews on this place like...

"Tucked deep into the Damansara Heights neighbourhood, Hot Chocolat makes for a good hideaway eatery. The laid-back and unpretentious atmosphere puts you right at home."

"Another great place for Italian. This time it's at a cosy little place in Damansara Heights. Sitting at a corner shoplot amongst the quiet Damansara Heights neighbourhood lies Hot Chocolate Cafe."

"QUIET ambience, easy parking and lovely Italian food - that's the lure of a little cafe tucked away in Damansara Heights, I HAVE many reasons for going back again and again to The Hot Chocolate Cafe."

...To put it bluntly i wish i had just kept it that way.

The decor and ambience was kind of haphazardly laid back and the place looked kind of tired and i'm sure it has seen better days.
I was greeted by a chiller with some sad looking "Royal Chocolate cake" and the waitress that only recommended the high price items on the menu( which was of an Italian Thai spread).
So we decided on Pesto Salmon ($26) which had a watery cream and bits of cili padi and beware lots of tiny little bones in the salmon.
The other order was Abbacio Roma (lamb chops $22) which was as tough as anything you can imagine. It came with sad looking veg and a really sour mint sauce generously poured over the chops. You can get the same dish at Mama Chops & Papa Grills for less minus the frills. And before i forget an order of cold stale garlic bread.
So far so bad, as i gestured to the waitress to clear the table and to order the the signature chocolate cake she instead brought me my bill and thankfully end this ordeal.
I'm really easy to please foodwise, but as a rule of thumb i will find it very difficult to come back to a restaurant that serves dishes that i can make better.

Rear-seat dilemma for parents with four children

(pic of irresponsible parents endangering their children by overloading.)

By V. CHANDRASEKARAN/TheSTAR

SUNGAI PETANI: Parents with four children are confused as to how they are to seat all their children into the back of the car without being caught for overloading.

“We cannot leave a child behind in the house when going out, neither can we afford to buy another vehicle to adjust to the new requirement on rear seat belts,” lamented trader Nordin Ahmad from Bandar Perdana Jasmin.
Nordin, 44, drives an Iswara Aeroback and is worried how he, his wife and four children would fit into their car without running the risk of being stopped by a policeman.
(Its statements like these that is why we have such high fatalities when a road mishap occurs, its not about being able or not to afford a bigger vehicle. Its this fuckin 'Tidak Apa" attitude that contributes to road fatalities.)

Road Safety Department director-general Datuk Suret Singh has warned that motorists with more than three rear seat passengers could be fined for "OVERLOADING".

“I am a low-income earner and have no other choice but to use only my Iswara for family travels. It is unfair to hold the driver responsible for ferrying more than three children in the rear seats,” said Nordin whose children ranged from seven to 13 years of age.(Its mentalities like these that we have first class infrastructure with 3rd class users.)

Restaurant operator Yeow Boon Fey, 44, from Taman Legenda Indah, said he would now have problems going out with his four children, aged between three and 15, his wife Yong Nyok Ching, 40, and mother Kong Yoke Mooi, 68.

“Tell me, what should I do? Should I buy another car or leave behind my mother or some of my children? I am confused.
( For starters JPJ should revoke this fuckers driving license, we don't need morons like these on our roads. Statements like these really gets to me! Hello fuckhead the law says "NO OVERLOADING" which is the No.1 cause of high fatalities on Malaysian roads.)

“The authorities should be less rigid when imposing the regulations. We are not operating taxis but only want to take our family out in our car,” said Yeow, who has a Viva fitted with rear seat belts.
(A Viva is ideally designed to carry 4 passengers and for fuck sake can't you get it in your head? have you ever heard of the word SAFETY!!)
Kindergarten teacher Suzana Abdul Aziz, 38, from Taman Seri Jenaris, who also has four children, aged between five and 12, said although her family had a second car, they relied on their Iswara for balik kampung trips.

Mohd Desa Saidin, 42, a clerk at the National Registration Department in Kulim and married with four children aged between six and 13, said wearing rear seat belts was no guarantee that accidents would not endanger passengers’ lives.
“Even with all the safety measures, there are fatal accidents. What about accidents involving buses where many passengers die? Buses do not have safety belts,” he said.
(Another selfish fucked up statement, hell i know there are no guarantees in life but what harm is there to adhere to the rules for your families safety and others!!)

I'm all for the rear seat belts ruling and for the enforcement of overloading in passenger cars. I'm not discriminating againts big families, but when you decide to pack your car up like a sardine can and endanger other motorist around you its not about being rich or poor. Its about being a responsible person.

Bruce Willis sues Petra, Tunku Imran as green venture turns sour

LOS ANGELES, Nov 21 — Hollywood actor Bruce Willis of “Die Hard” fame is suing Malaysia’s Petra Group and Tunku Imran Tuanku Ja’afar over a “green rubber venture”, Bloomberg news reported today.

The actor is demanding the return of US$900,000 (RM3.2 million) of the US$2 million he invested in the venture.

According to court papers filed in federal court in Los Angeles, California, Petra's chief executive Datuk Vinod B. Shekhar and Tunku Imran had induced him to invest in a company that was developing a non-toxic and recyclable rubber.

Willis had a put option, whereby for a specified period time he could get a full refund of his investment, according to the complaint. He exercised the option on March 17, Willis said, according to the Bloomberg report.

Willis said in his filing that he was told former US Vice-President Al Gore and actor Mel Gibson had also invested in the company, Elastomer Technologies Ltd.

I guess they won't be expecting any christmas cards from Bruce Willis this year.

UMNO BOLEH!!

The Umno disciplinary board has been asked to speed up its investigations into the 900 plus complaints of money politics it has received so that those found guilty would not be able to contest in the party polls next March.

Rais Yatim said he had been asked to pay for votes in an upcoming contest for top posts, and warned that money politics would destroy the organisation.
Foreign Minister Rais Yatim said "the majority" of Umno members were more interested in making money out of the election than in voting for the right person.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said the Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) is allowed to investigate cases involving money politics in the run up to the Umno party elections in December.

So why the fuck can't UMNO disciplinary council take any action. Hello its already bad enough that the fate of this country is left in the hands of 2000 odd voters. It can't be that all of the complaints are false or lacking in evidence to take any action. Can't they even find 5% of the cases to make examples of? Corruption is corruption, why one set of rules for the political parties to decide disciplinary action? What the fuck is the ACA doing?

Only in Malaysia where money politics is so openly discussed and not denied. So why the fuck does the government complain everytime the country slides down some corruption index.

I don't know how far its true when Tun Mahathir said that he will publish the names of money politics offenders so if he does that would make some interesting reactions.

Mat Rempit.....The SCUM of Society

(Photo from TheStar, Khairy second from right and Azeez far right.)
The latest case of a 44 year old woman fighting for her life after being attacked by mat rempits have really got me boiling. The cases are now more rampant and its getting out of control. Make's me want to take my Land Rover out and mow these fucking scums of the earth down. These fuckers don't deserve any sympathy and i'm taking my que from Federal CID Chief's statement in The Malay Mail urging the public to help fight these Mat Rempits.

But the real fuckers behind glorifying these scum are none other than Putera Umno chief Datuk Abdul Azeez for legitimizing them and classifying them as Mat Cemerlang. This is the fucker that wanted to turn Mat Rempits into an asset of Putera Umno and their races into a "tourist attraction".

Deputy Umno Youth leader Khairy Jamaludin at one time suggested recruiting these kamikaze Mat Rempits as Umno youth members. The suggestion by Khairy that "Mat Rempits" should become the "Eyes and Ears" for the Malaysian Police Force is a fucking insult!

The police should instead arrest Khairi and Azeez for promoting illegal activities and endangering public lives. They were the propogators of this social menace. If the HINDRAF leaders can be locked up for their activities then tell me whats the difference between HINDRAF and Umno Putera/Youth. Why is one group locked up and another scott free to terrorize. Where the fuck are they now? Innocent people have lost their lives and seriously injured in brutal attacks by mat rempits and not a peep from these two fuckers.

So to Khairy and Azeez go look up the dictionary for the word "RETRIBUTION"

OBAMA..."Change... YES We Can"

Barack Obama has won the US08 Presidential Election. The 44th President of the USA is black and it has shown that it is possible for what everyone thought was the impossible to do.

..."America, we are better than these last eight years. We are a better country than this. Change has come to the US.
Barack Obama"

Its hard to imagine anything like this happening in Malaysia. When the immaturity of the politicans and people are still so evident as in the PKNS General Manager appointment. America can change but i do not see that ever happening in my lifetime for Malaysia as long as the people do not change their appetite for money politics.

..."And I've looked over, and I've seen the promised land. I may not get there with you, but I want you to know tonight that we as a people will get to the promised land. So I'm happy tonight. I'm not worried about anything. I'm not fearing any man.
Martin Luther King Jr. (1929 - 1968), Speech in Memphis, April 3, 1968, the day before King was assassinated."

Tomboys, Yoga, What Next...

I was already laughing when i read that when the National Fatwa Council came about with their ban on tomboys. It has been deemed unacceptable for girls to dress up as boys and that it encourages lesbianism. Then came this killer report that the council will be issuing a ruling soon relating to yoga exercise, which is deemed to be deviationist in nature for the Muslims.

UKM lecturer Prof Zakaria Stapa advised Muslims who have taken up yoga - a widely popular exercise which has its roots to India and Hinduism - to stop practising it for fear that it could deviate them from their belief.

"Yoga originated from the Hindu community and it combines spiritual as well as their religious aspects. They believe it brings them closer to their god," he was reported as saying in Berita Harian today.

So i guess now the religious departments will list gyms and ladies spas in their list of places of ill repute to raid. Right up there with the whore houses, bars, niteclubs and karaoke joints. Why the double standards, if thats the case muslims can't work in banks cause it charges interest, Malaysia Airlines should stop serving alcahol on its flights(no more champangne for its chairman) cause the majority of its attendants are muslims and not forgetting the thousands of muslims in the food and beverage industry!!

Its fucking moronic, embarassing and lame to read the reasons given by the council.

MORONS with cars

A man lays dying on the side of the NKVE a victim of a hit and run for one and half hours during the morning rush hour before an ambulances finally arrives only to announce his death 5 minutes later.
What i don't get is what pleasure is there for fucking motorist to slow traffic down to ogle at that poor man lying on the road? Holding up traffic meant that the ambulance couldn't reach the victim. I know my blog doesn't reach out to the masses but this is not going to stop me berating those idiot drivers who had nothing else better to do but hold up traffic. Please remember the next time that its not a freak show and that someones life is at stake here!! So fuckin move it!!!
I didn't witness the incident but from what i saw on tv was that for the whole period the victim was in obvious shock and the policeman directing traffic did not even bother to keep the victim warm which could have saved his life.
What the fuck don't tell me that the policeman didn't even know basic first aid. What really pisses me off is that no one even thought of covering the victi to keep him warm. Once again i have to say that it could have saved his life!!!

PM: "UMNO are NO BULLIES"

Speaking at the annual MCA general assembly, the Prime Minister touched on a topic that has been discussed and debated since non-Malay voters deserted the ruling coalition in droves on March 8: the arrogance of Umno politicians and the perception that the MCA, MIC, Gerakan, PPP, PBS and every other component party were punished at the polls for their subservience to the ruling party.
He said: “People say that Umno is a party that likes to bully. I actually have no idea how to bully. There is no such thing as bullying.’’
Wasn’t it only a month ago that Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail exhibited supreme arrogance when he showed no remorse for calling Malaysian Chinese immigrants at a rally in the run-up to the Permatang Pauh by-election.
And when Gerakan stood up to him, he behaved just like a schoolyard bully.
He asked for Gerakan to be kicked out of the BN.

It just confirms that Badawi has been fuckin asleep at the wheel all this while. Enough said.

Najib says NO ABUSE OF POWER!!

The message raises some questions about Najib's role in the case. "Why did he mention "tentative" charge and that "all is not lost" for RB (Razak Baginda)? How would Najib know this before Razak was charged? These are important questions which will have ramifications, not just on this case but far beyond," a posting on the website said.

However, Najib would neither confirm nor deny that the supposed SMS exchange between him and Shafee were genuine.

"It doesn't really matter. The important thing is there is no abuse of power," he said.

"No need, no need, it is private. Whatever it is, the prime minister has said enough," he continued in the same tone.

"Why should it be of major concern? The important thing is if there is abuse of power and, if you read it carefully, there is no abuse of power, period," Najib reasoned .(themalaysianinsider)

NO! the important thing is you said you had no knowledge on the matter!! Its a major concern because you are now being handed the most important job in the country!! Such a reply to the public smells of a conspiracy!! By saying its a private matter just puts more suspicion on your credibility!! Its appaling that you can come up with such a statement to hoodwink the public.

Fuck the whole world must be laughing at us now!!

Ignore Altantuya Allegations??

The statement made by the PM to ignore all the allegations againts Najib stinks of abuse. Why is he protecting his successor from such allegations. It only reinforces the fact that there is a set of rules for them and another for the rest of us. Why do we have to have faith in a person that consistently have such allegations and scandals hanging over him? And its already been 2 years now that the courts have carried out this charade of a murder trial and are not any closer to a conclusion! What a load of fuckin bullshit!!

Fuck i'm not buying this story. If he has nothing to hide then get Najib and Shafee to come out and prove so and Adbullah should just shut the fuck up.

PM-To-Be Abuse of Power?

What the fuck is this country going thru? Malaysiakini, MalaysiaToday, Malaysian Insider have now published this controversial piece on how The so called PM-to-be has intimate knowledge on the Altantuya case!!

If this is true then why the fuck is Raja Petra languishing in an ISA cell and charged with sedition??

Below you will find whats already been circulating the www. You decide for yourself..
Inside are the sms-es purportedly sent between the two: Najib and Shafee:

Dato Seri, Negotiating for conditional release. If not police need 2 or 3 more days extention.I suspect its an exercise in public relation as they do not want public to think a VIP was given an easier time.Being a vip under these conditions is a liability.Otherwise we are on track according to plan. Salam, Shafee

ANy chance of a release by sun ?

S2N
Date: 11/11/2006 08:58:14
Police should release him by then except that I think the police is disturbeb by Media and public pressure.Other factors need be coomunicated to Dato Seri in person. Investigation wise we are on track for release.

S2N
Date: 11/11/2006 09:26:52
It is clear that the Police will ask for extention t’row.I will resist strongly in view of the fact that the last few days investigation on RB have completed investigations that require RB’s presence in custody.Secondly, from yesterday the Police has done nothing much with him except to do the dna.Thirdly, I am concerned with the Police carelessness yesterday in allowing the 3 other suspects to be freely mixing and therefore tainting their subsequent stmnts as they could be ‘group coached’.But it also show Police no longer need to isolate the suspects.Even RB was handcuffed to the C/I. Salam . Shafee

Shah Rukh Khan To Receive Datukship

MELAKA, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- Bollywood leading actor Shah Rukh Khan will receive a datukship from the Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri, in conjunction with his 70th birthday Saturday.
Melaka Chief Minister's political secretary Saadon Basirun said the actor would be awarded the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM).Shah Rukh was awarded the title for his contribution to the entertainment industry at international level. Shah Rukh Khan has also contributed to our tourism industry when he acted in a movie filmed in Malaysia," he said.

My question is without being disrepectful to them or their achievements, the question must be asked: does an achievement such as theirs, being one-off, short term, and, realistically speaking, limited in its national impact, deserve such high and official recognition? Do they really deserve their titles, their Datukships?

Lately, young sportsmen and sportswomen have been liberally awarded datukships for their feats.Previouly you had to climb mountains, swim The English Channel. go to outer space and even be a MCA wannabe somebody!

One should take the cue from former deputy prime minister, the late Tun Abdul Ghafar Baba.He was a mere "Encik" until his retirement. At his own request, Tun had preferred to wait until he left office to receive any award.
He reasoned that these awards become more meaningful when bestowed at the end of one’s career or service, as it is the culmination of one’s work and encapsulates an individual’s lifelong efforts.

It doesn't take much to get this title anymore,I'm sorry it's really difficult to meet a deserving Datuk. Just watch those fucking clowns with Datukship's in the parliament?

Prime Minister To Be

Najib Abdul Razak has urged Malaysians to respect leaders ‘...as rude behaviour targeted at those in power could lead to economic losses and national instability'.

PM to be is has already forgotten that the only fuckin reason he is where he is because of its people.

We do not have to bend over and kiss the feet of corrupt politicians who are often implicated in fuckin scandals, corruption and even murder cases.

The signs from Najib, who is on the brink of becoming the country's next PM is a person who is more concerned about the people being subservient to him than in honestly and sincerely serving the people.

I remember vividly in 1987, Najib wielded a Keris, and said, he wanted that Keris to be soaked in Chinese blood. And I wonder now, have we all forgotten that? Has he forgotten that?

How could we have a PM to be who wants his own people's blood? How could we, reasonably expect him to take care of us?

As I have said in my blog that i don't really care about politics and its circus and this shall remain so. Nonetheless, I feel compelled to remind all Malaysians, how thirsty Najib was in 1987 for the Chinese blood.

Apologise? i dunno, it won't make any difference.

M. Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone Belleruche 2006

Good everyday CDR, light with very aroatic nose of plum, cherries. A bit funky at times, a bit short with a clean finish. Overall for RM80 a bottle.its good value for a simple straight forward CDR.

EX-DE FACTO MINISTER OF JUSTICE

Now that we know Adbullah is goin next March, this is one of the fuckin things that i don't get.. Zaid Ibrahim.. Love him or loathe him i don't understand why ex-gratia payments were paid to the ex-judges when they are already getting full pensions. And what i really don't get is why is the amount not made public since its taxpayers money. How was it approved?? Did he just go to the treasurers office and asked for the cheques to be made out. Then he goes about distributing the cheque amid media frenzy and says its a matter of principle!? So much for tranparency!! Only in Bolehland where certain people of privilage can do and get away without having to explain!

"One can afford to have principles when one is rich and does not have to depend on the small allowance of a Minister."...Tun Dr. Mahathir on Zaid Ibrahim the EX-DE FACTO MINISTER OF JUSTICE

Roasted Artery Clogging Goodness

I was lucky enough to survive eating this. It tastes amazing. It has the appearance of pure gelatinous fat, but instead it's firmer, quite earthy, meaty, I would almost say mushroomy or fungal. Had it on a toast with roasted garlic spread and sea salt. Had 3 bones and it was heaven. Actually my head was spinning for a while must be something to do with my cholesterol. So i'm going to limit this to once a month.

Final Flop

Flip Flop has finally decided that in the best interest of UMNO, Barisan Nasional and for the general good of the citizens of this country he will not be defending his UMNO Presidency.

Adbullah also told reporters that "I do not want a divided party, or a divided government,"

"I know I've not been doing well; it's time for someone else to take over," he said, adding that Barisan leaders have received the news well (FINALLY...PHEW!)

He said that he believes that other Barisan leaders would accept Najib as his successor and that the latter would win the Umno polls.(THATS STILL YET TO BE SEEN)

Meltdown

The global economy goes into a tailspin and markets across globe tumble but in Malaysian we are more engrossed in the country’s on-going political drama that has turned into a fuckin comical farce of near fuckin epic proportions. Analyst on the KL stock market are at a loss at what the local markets resistance is. The only thing for sure is that our PM is now in a meeting with the BN counterparts. There's only two roads for the PM which are if he listens to the party grassroots then its bye bye to him and the other is he might just hang on for the fuck of it.

vive la flip flop

PM aka Mr. Flip Flop says he has no announcement today (maybe tomorrow, maybe not) on whether he will be defending UMNO presidency.
Nothing he says or does surprises me anymore, maybe after a family dinner tonight he might not even make any announcement anymore. Remember this coming from a PM that has lost 4 states and Federal Territories. Who insist that he has a strong mandate from the people amid no two thirds majority.

More Flip Flop

The Prime Minister of Malaysia says he will announce his decision to defend UMNO president's post tomorrow OR by Wednesday (the fucker can't even decide on the day!!)

Former PM Tun Mahathir however had this to say that he did not believe Abdullah would leave. 'He likes to change his position. As long as he does not make the announcement, I will not believe it,' he was quoted as saying by the Malaysian Insider website.

He has had five years in office to eradicate poverty, bring judical and legal reforms, open more verandahs and backdoors, propogate islam Hadhari and do all these but everyone knows nothing has been accomplished by him. He has even postponed the UMNO elections to next year. Now he says he will do all these in three months. So what the fuck has he been doing all this time??

Anyway if he does step down Abdullah would go down in history as the lamest PM and there after when Najib takes over it will spell the the end of BN. Bets anyone?

I Just Don't Give A Fuck Anymore

Buddy of mine advised me not to put up entries in my blog for the time being coz of all the shit thats happening around lately. And then some of the keys on my laptop have seized to function due to old age so it makes updating my blog quite a chore. So much has happened lately i'm going to have to go into overdrive to catch up. What really freaks me out is that the worlds economy is in a tailspin but the spin doctors here all paint a rosy picture ie we can weather the storm, our fundamentals are stronger bla bla bla. Things are going to get much worse before it can get any better. We rely on exports for our survival and the domestic economy is i would say non-existent so how is this going to help the country?? Even our new Finance minister is a joke, he overpays for everything ie. subarines, Sukhoi fighter jets etc. His record speaks for itself and now he gets the coveted job. God have mercy on us!

INTERNAL SECURITY ACT

WHAT IS THE FUCK GOIN ON HERE?!!! The goverment gets to hide behind this draconian act and hence they have shown to the world its interpretation of freedom of speech. Frankly i can't see anything wrong with what was said by Raja Petra, he was just practising his right to free speech. Its the people mentioned in his articles who are running scared and should be behind bars in Kamunting!! RPK has already been charged for sedition and criminal defamation in court so let him have his say and if found guilty then lock him up. I suppose its one sure way to shut him up so that he can't expose those fuckers hiding behind the ISA.
Hello Mr. Home Minister remember that what goes around comes around.

FREE SHEIH

It just don't make any sense anymore. The guy from Bukit Bendera goes around shooting his mouth off and getting everyone angry is roaming free. Kickdefella's action didn't spark racial hatred or anything of that sort is now locked up! What the fuck is going wrong in my country!!

YES to Champions League but NO Sex

Liverpool FC can count themselves lucky to be in the Champions League group stages after fending off Standard Liege by an extra time Dirk Kuyt goal.
It was no big secret that Stevie G was carrying a minor groin injury but LFC have now announced that it will have to be operated on later today. This means he'll be out for about 10-15 days, I'm sure Gerrard must be feeling pissed off at the prospect of going without sex for a couple of weeks, but it's an option I hope he goes for. I'm sure the missus will understand if it means you get to Rome.

How Now Brown Cow?

What's it going to take to knock it into his fucking thick skull that you're no longer welcomed to lead this country anymore?? While everyone was up north campaigning for the by-election our PM aka Sleepy aka Dopey was no where around his home state. He doesn't give a fuck coz he still thinks he has until 2010 to hoodwink the rakyat.
He's getting no favours here from Tengku Razaleigh who had this to say after the BN's crushing loss at Peratang Pauh.....

It is time to face the music: it is we who have been buried:

- Our leadership is rejected by the rakyat and, moreover, is rejected by our own members. BN’s vote count was less than the number of UMNO members in the constituency.
- Within and among our component parties we ran a poorly coordinated and listless campaign against a motivated Opposition.
- What scraps of credibility the Prime Minister and his Deputy had left after March 8 are gone.

He adds.....

...he does not have the minimal credibility needed to run the country day by day, let alone to take it in the new directions we need to go in a complex world. He may not have the credibility needed to keep the country together. This dangerous situation cannot continue, and it will not.

Stoke City3 Aston Villa2

Mamady Sidibe was the hero as Stoke claimed their first ever Premiership victory with a last minute winner against Aston Villa.
Hosting their first game in the top division for 23 years, twice had their lead pegged back by a much-fancied Aston Villa team yet finally, thrillingly, won the game with the last move of the afternoon, deep into injury-time.
(i know its old news but i'm trying to catch up)

UiTM (Universiti ini Tolong Melayu)

Opening UiTM's door will "RAISE" academic standards but as expected the statement by the Selangor MB has been attacked from all corners by pro-BN supporters and surprisingly even academics have lent support! Each are pointing fingers at one another calling it a politicaly motivated move.
My question is whats wrong with a little bit of healthy competition to improve the standards of the students and the instituition? Isn't it time to change the public perception of UiTM being the conveyour belt of substandard degrees and flooding the already saturated employment market with ill equipped graduates with little or no grasp of the english language (since i last checked is still the language of business). The powers that be are shooting themselves in the foot by promoting Malaysia as a hub of "Corridoors" to the world while its churning out a fucked up workforce in its own backyard.
Whats even more disturbing is that it is only a suggestion and if its not acceptable then the powers that be should just say no and move on. Theres no need to to attatch any political agenda behind it. Why drag the non-bumi's into this only to use it as fodder to instill hatred. I personally feel if UiTM wants to stay behind in a world of its own so be it, let them keep it to themselves.
The minority voice speaking in favour of progressive ideas are usually shot down and threatened by their peers, lecturers and a management whose sole purpose is to keep it a breeding ground for future UMNO supporters/voters. Making it a very internally repressed university. Sad but true.

Wine's Under RM100 / Yellowtail Shiraz 2006

[I'm doing this to find good wine for everyday drinking and our goal is to find that with a RM100 budget. I believe there are some good bottles to be found out there. In the end we hope to have a list of budget wines to add to our list the next time we have the urge but low on finances. DISCLAIMER; Remember, I am not a wine expert, infact, I know very little about wine, but I want to try many different types of wines]

Yellow Tail Shiraz 2006 (Australia)
Ok for starters its RM49.90 (well within the budget) at any liquor corner at the local supermarkets. Its really popular and you shouldn't have any problems finding it on the shelfs with its in your face lable. Its really fruity and sugary sweet and it can turn your tongue black. Its a dark and a thick fruit bomb with all sorts of stuff on the nose, smoke, oak, dark fruit, bell peppers. Jammy, sweet fruits, too sweet and syrupy for my taste.

VERDICT: Not outstanding, basic wine, I think this will make a nice cooking wine for some dishes but I am going to stop drinking after a glass.

Its Barely Noon.........

My sms read....... Its only tuesday and barely noon i'm already needing a drink!

Usual suspects reply...... What do you want to do about it?

Me..... I'm goin for that drink! U game? Theres the stash under the staircase.

Suspects reply..... Game! but Time?

We spoke after that and its tentatively set for 3pm. There's too much of nothing going on and its playing havoc on my life. So i'm going to get things off my mind.

QUOTE of the Day:

It Came From Down South

It was last Friday at The Establishent met up with the regulars for what was suppose to be a bottle or two but we ended the night with another triple play.
It was recomended by the establishments over enthusiastic future somelier guy who reckons that we would enjoy this. Couldn't make out the lable as it was all in latin and as you would guess i'm still grasping with the english language. Anyways the colour was a deep purple with a nose of musk and sandalwood which reminded my buddy that it was time to pay his respects to his ancestors at the altars back home. To sum it up it was typically South African with earthiness, mushrooms, short, oakey, no fruit, minerally, tannic acidic and ends like a juice. It reminded me of intermission wine between 2 sad piano concertos. And to make the day sadder it was RM300 a bottle. Enough said.

We had to have something else to make up for the first and we again visited the vineyards of the southern hemisphere and had the Alkoomi Jarrah Frankland River Shiraz 2001 (RM216, again not cheap) which was full of plums and berries, very fruity lots of tannins. Medium bodied and lenght. Will probably get better in a few years time but it was not going to make up for the first bottle. STRIKE TWO!

The establishment was definetly not happening for us so we got out of there for a late dinner at Prego's of the usual pasta, risotto and duck (write about that another time). The wine that accompanied dinner was a Bruno Giacosa Nebbiolo d'Alba 2004 (back to familiar territory), it started out tight but after a while it was a lovely wine with cherries, a hint of strawberries, tar and licorice. Feels like silk in the mouth. Nice acidity, balance and finish. Had to pay unrealistic restaurant mark ups for a basic Giacosa but at least it made up for the earlier rough rides.

DISTRESS

Sheih aka Kickdefella initated the Raising My Flag Upside Down which I will join in together putting the upside down flag on my blog because we are truly a nation in DISTRESS. I have had enough of the 3 Stooges (Bodohwi,Najis & Anwar) and the whole supporting cast of the half past 6 cabinet. SHAMELESS FUCKERS!!

NOTE(1): Hoisting the flag upside down is not disrespectful to the flag or country.*

NOTE(2): I chose the auspicious date of 08.08.08 to post this, God knows we need all the luck we can get.

*Techniques in flag display (source Wikipedia)

Hoist – the act or function of raising a flag, as on a rope.

Lower – the act or function of taking down a flag, as on a rope.

Half Staff or Half Mast – a style of flag display in which the flag is flown at half of the potential height of the available flag pole. Usually this is done by first hoisting the flag to the top, then lowering it to halfway. (Equally valid 'half-masting' is flying the flag at two-thirds of its normal height. This is especially applicable where the full height of the pole is not visible to most observers; for instance, where the pole is mounted on the roof of a building and the lower portion of the pole is not visible from street level.) This usually denotes distress or a show of grief, such as mourning a death. The use of 'mast' suggests naval use but typically the two terms are interchangeable.

DISTRESS – flying the flag upside-down, or tying it into a wheft. [1]

I look forward to better times.

Lucky No. 8

August 8 2008 (08-08-08) promises to be a lucky day and its also China's big day as the Olympic Games open in Beijing.

In superstition and divination

If each of the classical elements is assigned a cosmic projection, the resulting number (8) represents them.
As a lucky or unlucky number
Eight (八; accounting 捌; pinyin bā) is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture because it sounds like the word"prosper"or "wealth" (发; Pinyin: fā).

In numerology, 8 is the number of building, and in some theories, also the number of destruction.

In Astrology, Scorpio is the 8th astrological sign of the Zodiac
In the middle ages, 8 was the number of "unmoving" stars in the sky, and symbolized the perfectioning of incoming planetary energy.

Triple Play

This happened last Friday after a long, hot frustating week at the office. It was early around 3pm, luckilly i had company and it being the last day of the week we ended the day with 3 bottles at the establishment.

Chapoutier Gigondas 2005
medium bodied Rhone with hints of cherry and plums with a minerally after taste. I've not had much luck with french wines but i think i found this one to be palatable and it has a decent price point of RM155. Note * i thought it had a very familiar smell of cherry chupa chups on the nose.

Alex Gambal Nuit Saint Georges 1998
Yucks! Thin, dry and highly acidic. Couldn't make anything out of this bottle except for an unpleasant smell of a wet dog if you know what i mean. Tried decanting and still that smell wouldn't go away. Maybe the frenchies don't do it for me. Bigger heartache was the price RM269 definetly no bang for your buck here.
Note from the website: 1998 Nuits St. Georges – Primarily from old vines on the Vosne side of Nuits; Aux Lavières and Au Bas du Combe. A bit more red fruits in Nuits in 1998; very ripe raspberries with smooth tannins. 100 cases made...yada yada yada

Sette Ponti Oreno 2004
Sangiovesse young but very good. It had the very things i like in a wine and thats cherry, black fruit, tobacco, leather, vanilla, coffee, chocolate, and oak on the nose and palate. Medium to full bodied with a nice long finish. At RM275 i'd pay this anyday over the frenchies.

The Leader's Way

For all the madness happening to our country no thanks to inept power hungry individuals with only their own selfish agenda's, may i suggest this book. The Leader's Way Business, Buddhism and Happiness in an Interconnected World Dalai Lama XIV Bstan-'dzin-rgya-mtsho, Laurens van den Muyzenberg
Reviews:
A"As a study of Buddhism and its relevance to globalisation, it has a lot to say. It applies the concepts of Buddhism to businessA" decision-making using concepts such as the 'Right Way', interdependence and impermanence,. To simplify, it's a Hippocratic, do-no-harm creed: companies should have integrity, leader's 'mindfulness', to act for the greatest good. Many reader's will value it. There's much to learn, nothing to offend - just leave your cynicism at the door.A"Director, June 2008This book examines capitalism and Buddhism in a fascinating way. Everybody in business who is seriously interested in responsible entrepreneurship will recognise the issues. The book adds a valuable dimension to the values and ethical standards that form the basis for responsible leadership in business."Prof. C.O. Now Their Going To Charge Him

The Election Commission today announced August 16 as nomination day and August 26 as polling day for the Permatang Pauh parliamentary constituency by-election then its followed up with charges for sodomy when he turns up at the Jalan Duta sessions courts tomorrow after police took a civil approach today and served him with a subpoena to appear in court.
Then Anwar Ibrahim calls a press confrence today accusing Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badowi of being personally responsible for bringing up the charge of sodomy against him. He quoted "I hold the prime minister personally responsible for the damage that is about to be done to the nation and to the integrity and dignity of the Malays.

The reality is we MALAYSIAN'S are the ones who are getting Butt Fucked by Abdullah Bodohwi, Najis and Anwar ie. FUCKING POWER CRAZY DICK HEADS!!!

Anwar back in Parliament??

Its confirmed that Amwar's wife will step down and allow him to run in a by-election in Permatang Pauh Parliaentary seat in the homestate of our present comatose PM. Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has hinted that he might be arrested again very soon ( maybe even in the next 48 hours) in connection with sodomy allegations against him which he described as a conspiracy to destroy his political career.

I truly don't give a fuck about who becomes Prime Minister as i already don't agree with any of the present jokers be it Abdullah, Najib or Anwar. Truly there must be somebody better out there right!!

Meanwhile we ordinary folks have to brace ourselves for more traffic choking road blocks by our paranoid half baked goverment in the name of public safety.

Keane & Barry join The SS Liverpool

Is Robbie Keane worth £20million? Well Benitez seems to think so. He looks like the best bet to partner goal machine Fernando Torres since the likes of Dirk Kuyt, Peter Crouch and Andriy Veronin have all failed to gel. I'm sure that Keane will do alot better to add to the firepower to challenge for the premiership but kinda pricey for a 28 year old.

Gareth Barry's transfer to Liverpool finally looks like going through after the Anfield club came up with the money to secure his move from Aston Villa.
The longest-running saga of the summer has reached a confusing climax after an earlier statement that he was staying at Villa Park.
Sportsmail understands that the mix-up was due to a deadline being missed by 20 minutes, and the transfer will finally be concluded on Thursday.
Villa will receive a £17.5million fee plus right back Steve Finnan in exchange for a midfielder who will fulfil his wish to play in the Champions League this season after all.
The transfer has dragged on since May when Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez made it clear that Barry was his top priority.

Its interesting times at Liverpool FC and can't wait for the season to start as i believe the spanish boss is finally getting to grips with the premiership and getting the right players to challenge for the title. Pricey aqusitions but definetly better then the second grade unknowns who have previously come through Anfield.

Pio Cesare Barolo 2003

This is one of my all time favs, a delicious wine with full blackberry aromas, full bodied, hints of coffee, licorice, tar, soft tannins, good balance with a nice long finish. It's exactly what i love about barolo's. ( the lable reminds me of Cinzano bianco).
A great young barolo with a lot of potential for later drinking but meanwhile its a great young wine which believe me is impressive now. I really enjoy drinking it now and delicious with meat. Overall a very good wine.
But as usual good grog don't come cheap it retails for around RM230 at the establishment. It sells for around RM380( or more) a bottle at restaurants but i had the once in a lifetime incident where i enjoyed 2 bottles of this excellent wine for RM130 a bottle due to some fuck-up at this new restaurant which i will not name to protect the innocent staff members from losing their jobs.( and i have the receipt to prove it!)
