Tun Dr Mahathir Turns On The Heat!!
Tun Dr Mahathir has quit UMNO...and urged others to follow suit.
Tun Dr Mahathir love him or hate him, in my books TDM is the most brilliant and the most instrumental man that has put Malaysia on the world map. I respect his brave decision and this has turned on the heat on Abullah Badawi and his half past six cabinet. I'm sure there will be a mass exodus of UMNO members and branches nationwide who will now stand up againts the current leadership and force this insepid liar of a leader out of office.
When asked by the press if he would stepdown as usual Badawi comes up with...."Why should i? I have work to do!".... I'm still trying to figure out what he has achived since he took office and i came up with... FUCKIN ZILCH!!...not taking into account the benefits his family and cronies got.
Frankly i don't expect Badawi or his 4th floor advisers to react to this and this will only lead to more problems for UMNO and Barisan Nasional...so i guess thats good for the other side... its just like the price war between Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia, i don't care if they make money or not as long as the customers benefit...and in this case i wish to see a new leader that the public can benefit from.

TerraMater Unusual Carménère Shiraz 2003
It's the weekend, been out in the sun all week on the job and everything that could go wrong did. I had to get that drink to bring back some sanity after the week i had. None of my usual suspects were around again owing to the Wesak Day extended weekend. Took a short walk with my lovely better half for a bite at the establishment.
TerraMater Unusual Carménère Shiraz 2003 is my pick for this evening. I don't usually have many fond memories of Chilean wines. I tried this bottle before back in Febuary and was quite surprised. This unusual blend of Carmenere and Shiraz gives a intensely deep red colour with characteristics of blackberry, plums and a hint of coffee and chocolate. Very well balanced with an intense persistent finish that i like. We took a couple of hours to enjoy dinner and it seemed to get better as it breathed and it probably would have benefited from decanting. Overall a very good wine for RM168 retail.

MAY 13 1969
History is the sum total of all the things that could have been avoided.
- Konrad Adenauer
*The May 13 Incident is a term for the Sino-Malay race riots in Kuala Lumpur (then part of the state of Selangor), Malaysia, which began on May 13, 1969. These riots continued for a substantial period of time, leading the government to declare a state of national emergency and suspend Parliament until 1971.
Officially, 196 people were killed between May 13 and July 31 as a result of the riots, although journalists and other observers have stated much higher figures. The government cited the riots as the main cause of its more aggressive affirmative action policies, such as the New Economic Policy (NEP), after 1969.

No kidding, Stoke City FC join the EPL!
Just got back from a business trip down south and was a happy camper when my blackberry delivered the news Stoke 0 Leicester 0, THATS IT!! we are back in the top flight after 23 years. Stoke face a tough battle for survival and i concede that defying the odds and staying up next season will be a huge challenge.
I've waited 23 years to see this to worry about their chances of surviving the premiership. For now, all that's necessary is to celebrate one of the truly great achievements in Stoke City's history and look forward to next seasons fixtures with Stoke in the premier league playing Man U, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool etc etc.
The critics will have already made us favourites for coming back down, well maybe we will but we can proudly say we have been there done that.Me personally I'm just going to enjoy the ride!
THE LONG WAIT IS FINALLY ALL OVER FOR STOKE :-)

Ceretto Langhe Monsordo 2002
My Labour Day treat....I have had this wine a half dozen times and it is a great little drink.... Walks a tight line between new world fruit and old world charm..... which get my 2 thumbs up for value for money. At RM138 retail its the Ceretto Langhe Monsordo 2002 from Piedmont, Italy.... My usual suspects are all out of town and taking a long weekend so i had a good couple of hours to enjoy it and ponder Liverpool's second trophyless season.
A red Bordeaux* blend and a California cabernet with some Nebbiolo in the mix. Dark purple in colour with loads or berry aroma's with a hint of vanilla. Good acidity and structure with a moderate long finish. Modern but still enjoyable.
*(The variety Red Bordeaux Blend implies any blend using any or all of the five traditional Bordeaux varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. As such, this is used worldwide, whether for wines from Bordeaux, Meritages from California and Canada, some Super-Tuscan wines etc.)

REDS FAIL TO REACH CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL
Chelsea advanced to the European Champions League final for the first time, with Frank Lampard returning from the death of his mother to score a penalty kick in a 3-2 overtime victory over Liverpool last night in London.
Liverpool was undone by their defenders, first leg it was Riise who scored an own goal and Hyppia gives away a penalty in the second leg. Enough said i'm all for replacing this pair as they have in my opinion gone past their expiry date. Still groggy from staying up for the game may have more to say later.
PS ,I'm going to look forward to this sunday and hope that Stoke City get that one point againts Leicester at The Brittania that will get them to the Premiership.
